Home > Interior Decorating > Faux > Glazework >>> Working with Glazes.
Transparent oil glazes are commonly used in faux effects. Glaze dries
to a soft finish and generally needs a protective coat of hard drying varnish.
Glazes vary in colour but they all dry transparent. They are usually tinted
to the desired colour with stainers or artists oil colours. The reason for
using glazes as opposed to normal varnishes is the ease with which glaze
can be manipulated. |
