A. It sounds like yuor garage door was galvanized.
I believe that needs a special zinc primer or the like. |

A. Hi BF, before you can paint the door with a
suitable primer you must scrape off every bit of paint back to the bare metal
or if you wait long enuf it will eventually fall off! ;-) |

A. Benjamin Moore make a primer for aluminium and galvanized metal but you can use it on anything - glass, plastic, anything smooth, even your fridge! |

Q. How much more rolls is needed if you pick a big pattern over a smallpattern. Thanx. |

A.If you have a very small or random pattern then you should get 4 lengths from a roll in an average height room (7'6" or about 230cm) but with a medium sized pattern then you will only get 3 lengths from a roll. So a room could be done with 8 rolls with a very small pattern and the same room with a big pattern will take 11 rolls. |

Q. We are considering papering all the ceilings in our house with embossed wallpapers. I was wondering what sort of cost we might be looking at. The ceiling are smooth and painted at the moment. |

A. I had my lounge ceiling done recently. For a start you need a professional paperhanger and you have to clear all furniture out of the room so they can set their gangplanks up. I needed 5 rolls at about £100+ and the man charged £140 for a few hours work. Remember if you get ceiling paper that needs to be painted afterwards that pushes up the cost.Good luck. |

Q. I painted my kitchen a sort of wedgewood blue colour but it seems to light and dark all over the place. Where I cut in at top of ceilings and edge of walls is lighter than the areas I rooled in. Do I need to paint it all again. |
